"Man does not live on bread alone..." - I was thinking this was from some time later, it sounded to me like something Solomon would've plonked into Proverbs, so it surprised me finding it all the way back here.
Also liked the very specific instructions and expectations here - how will we do this when they are stronger than we are,they ask - Answer? "...little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you."
Perhaps we should keep this in mind when we feel we are facing something much too big for us, that if God is with us, even giants can be conquered 'little by little', it doesn't always come from grand, huge victories with fireworks and bands.
